Inspiriert von meinem Vater habe ich mir diesen robusten Bergschuh gegönnt. Er passt und geht sich "Scarpamässig" wunderbar ... Für das was der Schuh alles kann ist er relativ leicht, eine klare Empfehlung !

The fit is perfect, lot of space in the toe box, I was wearing Salomon Quests for my basic tracking/backpacking/mountaineering tours, this is a whole lot of a different shoe, much more sturdy and less flexible, but it is still easy to walk in due to the rocker front and forward-flexible and soft “tongue” of the shoe. I only wore them on firm ice and powder snow, how they perform in rocky, high mountain terrain is yet to be seen. I walked over 40 km in the first two days of having them, yet I had only one small blister on my left heel. They are pretty much perfect. And for the narcissistic personalities among us, literally everybody out there is going to compliment you about the look of this shoe.

The boots are really very comfortable, adapt perfectly to the foot and the sole also cuts a great figure on the rock.
Normally I would give 5 stars here without thinking…

...BUT: The protective rubber coating in the area of the toe of the boot is placed so stupidly that two layers of rubber meet exactly at the edge that is subjected to the most stress. After my first tour through scree, the top layer started to come off quite easily. This of course provides further attack surfaces for stones, moisture, dirt, etc.
A simple continuous rubber layer, like every other manufacturer does, would prevent this.
I'm curious to see how long it lasts before it needs to be re-rubberized.

The shoe is intended for a woman. Unfortunately, women's mountaineering boots often do not come in sizes over 42. With the men's shoe - with the option of three widths - Scarpa offers a real alternative for women too.
