Sehr robuster und gut sitzender Schuh. Habe ihn auch schon auf einem Klettersteig ausprobiert. Es macht Spaß mit ihm und er vermittelt auch viel Sicherheit am Fuß. Eine 15km Mittelgebirgstour habe ich auch gemacht. Keine Probleme. Klare Kaufempfehlung

I have been looking for a shoe that fits my foot for a while.
La Sportiva Trango ALP EVO GTX was the first one, I sold it after five tours because it gave me so many bad blisters.

Now the Scarpa Zodiac.

The shoe is very light and comes in the usual quality as you would expect from Scarpa, everything makes a good impression.

It is neatly glued and sewn and is very easy to lace up. The upper and lower foot can be laced independently and there is also a snow lip on the boot shaft (top and back) which makes it harder for snow to fall into the shoe.

The Gore-Tex membrane does a great job as always, the outside of the shoe is wet and the inside of the foot is dry and warm.

Use and fit:

I use the shoe for mountaineering, climbing passages up to grade 4, ice tours up to 70° but not for snow-ice, everything in alpine terrain during long east and west alpine tours.
It feels at home on rock and ice, but it also performs well on challenging approaches. I assume that it is also suitable for hiking, but that is not what I use it for.

It is only used in summer; for winter tours, ice climbing and everything above 4k I use the Scarpa Phantom.

I have a wide foot with a narrow heel and a high instep.
I lace the shoe very tightly in the lower part of my foot so that it fits well around my heel and looser in the upper part of my foot so that it is still flexible.
